My Story
My wonderful sister Ishani was born with a right sided diaphragmatic hernia. She underwent an operation to correct this when she was only 2 days old and after many weeks on NICU she finally came home. Ishani was one of the lucky ones as she had a wonderful childhood and was a proud second year medical student at the university of Liverpool. Sadly, she developed heart failure secondary to pulmonary hypertension which is a well known complication of this condition and passed away on the 27th of September 2023.
The overall associated complications of Congenital Diaphragmatic hernia remain high and we hope to raise some money to help all those affected by this devastating condition.
